Hello! My name is Ava and I'm currently a summer intern with Crescent Moon Center. I'm studying Sociology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and I have a passion for social impact, mental health advocacy, and animals! I joined the Crescent Moon Center community eager to explore new pathways to support healing, aligning with both my studies and my personal values.
From the beginning, I was welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. I had the opportunity to attend an equine-assisted learning workshop with Archway Recovery Services early on, and it made a lasting impact on me. Watching the participants connect with the horses and express gratitude showed me just how powerful this community of support really is.
Since then, I've had the chance to contribute to various projects that uplift Crescent Moon Center's mission, whether through communications work, creative outreach, or research. Every moment has deepened my appreciation for the thoughtful, intentional work happening here.
Crescent Moon Center has become more than just an internship. It's a place where I've felt inspired, encouraged, and part of something so close to my heart. I hope to continue supporting this incredible community, long after the summer ends and witnessing the impact it has on others' healing journeys.
